As an independent testing facility, our customers come to us to perform testing which, if successful, enables them to obtain certification proving the quality of their product. Our facilities are equipped with modern equipment, enabling the recording and transmission of test data in electronic format.
In addition to certification testing, kA Testing Facility also works closely with companies aiming to develop new prototype products or materials for the industry.
Low Voltage
kA Testing Facility specialises in testing to IEC 61439, which is the standard for low voltage switchgear and controlgear assemblies. Upon successful completion, our clients are able to obtain ASTA Certificates of Verification Tests. Alternatively, we can perform specific tests as required by customers and provide performance reports.
Medium Voltage
Our facilities enable us to carry out dielectric tests on our customers’ medium voltage equipment with impulse testing up to 300kV, power frequency testing up to 130kV AC/100kV DC and partial discharge testing. We are able to offer verification against most of the test requirements identified in IEC 62271.
Facilities
We have two low voltage laboratories which are equipped with three temperature rise test sets, as well as impulse and power frequency equipment for verification testing. For customers wishing to perform testing for R & D purposes, we also have workshop and fabrication facilities available on-site.
